ACCESSIBILITY OVERVIEW
The festival is highly multi-sensory, and includes experiences that feature bright and moving lights, loud sounds, and colours. Large crowds are also to be expected. Our friendly Festival Assistants will be stationed throughout the festival zones for additional support every Friday to Sunday.
All festival zones are accessible to wheelchair users, except for the Padang, The Arts House Front Lawn, the Empress Lawn and the Asian Civilisations Museum Green. Accessible toilets are available on the first floor of all building venues. Service animals are welcome in all festival zones.
Various access provisions such as Singapore Sign Language interpretation are available for select programmes.
Please contact community@nationalgallery.sg at least nine days in advance.
WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY
The Gallery is committed to making our websites accessible and compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA standard.
On the Light to Night Festival website, you should be able to :
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
- View captions for most of the pre-recorded video content.
Some content on our website and other platforms might not be fully accessible:
- Some of our audio and video content may not have transcripts and audio descriptions provided.
- Some live videos may not have captions.
- Some links might lead to the Gallery’s main website or external websites, which may not be made accessible yet, due to their age and difference in technology available when they were set up.
- As the UserWay widget is added to provide more accessibility options, there may be incompatibility issues with some browsers.
QUIET ZONES
For visitors who need a break from the more stimulating festival spaces, quieter zones are located at:
- Level 4 Galleries (City Hall Wing), National Gallery Singapore
- Gallery II (Level 2), The Arts House
For visitors who require a private space to calm down, please visit the Calm Room at National Gallery Singapore, Level B1, The Spine Hall. Please note that various activities will be held within The Spine Hall itself for the duration of the festival, and some noise is expected.
