What are the types of membership available?

We have two types of Gallery membership – Explorer and Insider.

• Explorer: A free membership tier with limited benefits
• Insider: A paid annual membership tier with the full range of benefits

What is the difference between Insider and Insider (Concession)?

Both Insider and Insider (Concession) members enjoy the same membership benefits.

An Insider (Concession) membership offers discounted membership sign-up and renewal fees to full-time students, children aged 7–12 years, and seniors aged 60 years and above.

How do I become a member?

You can sign up via the Gallery Explorer app or in-person at our Tours & Programmes counter located at L1, near the Coleman Street entrance.

Membership sales at the counter are from 10am – 6.30pm. We are open daily.

To join as an Explorer member, simply create an account on our Gallery Explorer app. To join as an Insider, log in to your Gallery Explorer account and select ‘Sign up for Insider membership’. Once payment is made, your membership type will be upgraded to ‘Gallery Insider’ for 12 months.

How do I renew my Insider Membership?

Insider membership renewals can be made up to 60 days before the membership expires. We will send you an email reminder when it is time to renew your membership. Renewal can be done via the Gallery Explorer app or at our Tours & Programmes counter.

Renewals made 31 days or more before the expiry of membership will enjoy an early bird renewal rate. This entitles the member to a 30% discount off the original membership fee.

Renewals made 30 days or less from the membership expiry date will enjoy a standard renewal rate, which entitles the member to a 20% discount.

If you do not renew your Insider membership, your membership type will automatically revert to ‘Gallery Explorer’ once your membership expires. You can still enjoy the limited Explorer tier benefits. To become an Insider again, log in to your profile and go to ‘Sign up for Insider Membership’.

Do I need to renew my Explorer membership?

Explorer memberships do not expire, so you do not need to renew it. Membership renewal only applies to the Insider membership. Once renewed, Insiders can enjoy the full range of benefits for another 12 months.

What is your refund policy?

We regret that the membership fee is not refundable.

Will I get a membership card when I sign up?

A physical card is not issued. Instead, your can use the e-card on the Gallery Explorer app.

If you would like to have a physical card, it can be printed for you at our Tours & Programmes counter for an administrative fee of $2.

*Note: The physical card option is available for Insiders only. There is no physical card for Explorers.

As a member, how can I find out about upcoming exhibitions and events?

We send out regular email updates to members, with details of upcoming events, exhibitions, and special offers. Please make sure to subscribe for email updates when signing up.

Can I lend my membership card or account to someone else?

Only the named member may use their membership card. Membership cards should not be passed on to another party. Your membership may be de-activated if abuse of the card is suspected.

Do I need to pay for special exhibitions?

Insiders enjoy free and unlimited access to all exhibitions, including special exhibitions.

Explorers must pay for special exhibitions. Periodically, there may be admission benefits for Explorers, so make sure to stay subscribed to our membership newsletter. The latest promotions and benefits will be shared there.

Do I need to book tickets prior to visiting special exhibitions?

Insiders do not need to book tickets prior to visiting. All you have to do is scan your membership QR code on the Gallery Explorer app at the self-service kiosks when you arrive. You will be issued an Insider Pass on the spot, that grants you access to all exhibitions.

For Explorers, please book tickets online to obtain a QR code, which will be sent to your email. At the Gallery, scan this QR code at the self-service kiosks to receive your ticket.

I have just joined as a member and want to visit the special exhibition today. Is the membership valid immediately?

Yes, the Insider membership is valid from the moment you purchase it. You may visit special exhibitions immediately without paying an admission fee.

For Explorers, admission fees still apply to special exhibitions.

What special events are there for members?

We plan a variety of events each year specially for Insiders. Event admission fees may apply and admission is subject to availability. Get updates about what’s happening via the member newsletters.

Explorer members may be invited to certain member events. News about these will be shared in our newsletters, so look out for some exciting updates.

Do members get special discounts in the shops and cafes?

Insider members receive shopping and dining benefits in most of the Gallery’s restaurants and the Gallery Store. Enjoy this list of benefits.

Insiders can also get special perks from the Rewards Programme, whereby earned points can be used to redeem vouchers.

What is the Rewards Programme?

The Rewards Programme allows Insiders to earn points when you participate in selected programmes, or when you dine and shop at the Gallery.

The points can be used to redeem e-vouchers for additional privileges during your visit.

How do I access the Rewards Programme?

The Rewards Programme can be accessed after logging in to your membership account.

How do I earn points?

Insiders earn one point for every $1 (rounded down to the nearest dollar) spent on:

• Membership purchase
• Membership renewal
• Gift Membership purchase
• Selected programmes
• Gallery shopping and dining options

To earn points, log in to the member portal and go to “Earn Points”. Upload your receipt within two days of the date of purchase and submit the receipt details accordingly. Points will be awarded to your account within five working days.

We sometimes run special promotions, which offer additional points during selected periods.

You can also earn points by participating in members-only contests, giveaways, and events.

Can I earn points with receipts that are given to me?

Points are awarded for your own purchases. If a member is found to have submitted receipts that are not their own, National Gallery Singapore reserves the right to terminate the membership.

What can I use the points for?

Points can be used to redeem a variety of e-vouchers. Explore the Rewards catalogue on the membership portal when you log in.

Points are non-refundable, non-transferrable and non-exchangeable for cash or other items.

How do I check my points balance?

Your points balance is shown in your membership account when you log in to the Gallery Explorer app.

Do the points expire?

Points are valid for 12 months from the date they are earned. They expire at the end of the 12^th month.

There is no extension for the expiry date of points.

How do I redeem my points for rewards?

Points can be redeemed through the Rewards catalogue in the Gallery Explorer app. Your e-vouchers will then be available under “My Rewards”, ready for use.

Redemption or utilisation of rewards cannot be cancelled, and points will not be refunded.
