At the Padang Atrium Entrance, you’ll find our iconic six-storey-high event space, which connects the City Hall and former Supreme Court.

Directions

Nearest MRT station: City Hall
 

From City Hall MRT station

Take Exit B. The Gallery is approximately a 7-minute walk from City Hall station via the Art Connector. 
 

From Clarke Quay MRT station

Take Exit E and enjoy a leisurely 10-minute stroll along the Singapore River to the Gallery.
 

From Raffles Place MRT station

Take Exit B. The Gallery is approximately a 10-minute walk through the business district.

Coleman Street Entrance

Buses 63, 51, 80, 32, and 851 will stop opposite Peninsula Plaza. The Coleman Street Entrance is a 5-minute walk away.
 

Padang Atrium Entrance

This entrance faces the Padang.

Buses 195 and 961 stop along Parliament Place. Walk round the corner to the front of the building and you will find the Padang Atrium Entrance.

Buses 61, 124, 145, 166, 174, and 197 will stop opposite The Treasury Building on North Bridge Road. The Padang Atrium entrance is approximately a 7-minute walk away.

Buses 75, 100, 107, 130, 131, and 167 stop in front of Victoria Concert Hall. The Gallery is approximately a 5-minute walk away.

The entrance to the carpark is located along Coleman Street. Use Parliament Place to St Andrew’s Road to access the carpark entrance at Coleman Street.

Connaught Drive and Fullerton Road/Anderson Bridge is closed to traffic, so you cannot access the carpark via this route.

Admission & ticketing

All visitors will need an admission pass to view exhibitions in our galleries. Passes are not required for these areas.

  1. Free entry for Gallery Insiders, children 6 and under, locally-based students and teachers, and persons with disabilities with one caregiver. Visit any Visitor Services Counter for verification.

  2. Upon checking out, your admission pass(es) and list of activities will be emailed to you.

  3. When you arrive at the Gallery, head to any of the self-service kiosks or Visitor Services Counters to redeem your admission pass(es). For Singapore citizens and permanent residents, please have your NRIC or SingPass ready for identity verification.

Etiquette

When viewing artworks

Please do not touch the artworks. Even clean hands can cause damage.
 

Inside the exhibition galleries

Please help us create a conducive environment for all visitors to enjoy, study, and contemplate the artworks.

  • Speak in soft tones. Talking on mobile phones is not permitted inside the galleries.
  • Avoid running in the galleries.
  • Roller shoes should not be worn in the galleries.
  • Please do not obstruct the passage of other visitors.
  • The use of laser pointers is not allowed in the galleries.
     

Respecting our staff

Gallery staff have the right to work in a safe environment free from violence, abuse or threatening behaviour. The Gallery reserves the right to remove any person acting in an unacceptable manner.
 

Supervision of children

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the Gallery.

There is no dress code.

However, note that our exhibition spaces are climate-controlled to conserve our artworks, so it is advisable to bring something to keep yourself warm.

  • Bags may be subjected to inspection for security reasons.
  • To help protect the artworks, please store bulky items, large bags, and umbrellas in the lockers provided at Basement 1.
  • All galleries are wheelchair-accessible.
  • Standard-size motorised wheelchairs are permitted in the galleries.
  • Wheelchairs are available for loan free-of-charge at the Visitor Services Counters, located at Coleman Street Entrance, Padang Atrium Entrance, and B1 Concourse.

  • Strollers are allowed in the galleries. 
  • Alternatively, you may use the designated stroller parking area at the entrance of Keppel Centre for Art Education.
  • For large strollers, please approach our staff at the Basement 1 Visitor Services Counter for assistance.
  • No flash photography or videography is permitted in the galleries. Selfie sticks and tripods are also not allowed.
  • Still photography (no flash) for non-commercial use is allowed. 
  • Photography may be restricted in the special exhibition galleries, on levels 3 and 4 of the City Hall Wing.

  • Pencil sketching is permitted in the galleries with sketchbooks no larger than 8½ × 11 inches (22 × 28 cm).
  • Charcoal, pastel, permanent markers, watercolour, and oil paint are not permitted.
  • Easels cannot be brought into the Gallery.
  • Sketching while sitting on the floor is not allowed. If you need to sit down, you may borrow a stool free of charge from the Visitor Services Counter located at Basement 1 Concourse.

 

For groups who wish to sketch at the Gallery, please email us before your arrival.

  • Parking is available at Basements 1 and 2.
  • Visitors feeling over-stimulated or overwhelmed can rest at the Calm Room, located at B1 of the City Hall Wing.
  • Lockers for rent are available at B1, City Hall Wing.
  • Drinking fountains are located next to the restrooms on most floors.
  • Lifts are accessible on all floors.
