Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Gallery

With its skyline views, the garden gives visitors a relaxing space for respite. Its reflective pools also cool the building interior and cast shimmering patterns of light and shadow across the courtyards below.

The rooftop is also a platform for artists to showcase bigger art installations with the Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Commission series.

Sustainable design

As part of National Gallery Singapore’s commitment to achieve net zero by 2045, photovoltaic (PV) cells were incorporated into the canopy walkway on the former City Hall’s roof garden and the side of the former Supreme Court’s roof to generate renewable energy.

The Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden commission series invites leading artists to present site-specific work that reflects Southeast Asia’s heritage and histories from a contemporary perspective.
