Former Supreme Court Foyer

The flooring of the former Supreme Court Foyer was restored, preserving the original eight-sided foundation stone. Beneath the stone lies a time capsule, set to be opened in the year 3000, containing Straits Settlements currency and newspapers.

While the building’s exterior follows a neoclassical design, many details reflect the contemporary Art Deco style. These details include handrails, light fittings, and floor tiles. Notably, the black-and-white terrazzo flooring, with its bold geometric patterns in the foyer, is a hallmark of the Art Deco style.
