Artsplaining is a casual platform for art advocacy and aims to ease the public into art appreciation through lively and enriching dialogues with personalities they know and love. Through thoughtful conversations and witty interpretations, our featured guests reflect on how works in the Gallery relate to our current times. Equal parts off-beat and accessible, this programme is perfect for anyone who is keen to discover more about the visual arts! Grab a friend and book your spots to hear key personalities like mrbrown, Ministry of Funny and Megan talk about what art means to them.
Megan Foo, better known as @maegzter, is a Singaporean social media personality and art and lifestyle creator. Inspired by the need to make art easy, accessible, and relatable, Foo actively produces video content (TikTok) about art, covering renowned international artists to Nanyang Artists. Her first TikTok series, So You Want To Sound Smart Talking about Singaporean Artists? has garnered over 33,900 views. Foo has also worked with non-profit organisation, Art Outreach, to promote the local arts scene and highlight local artists starting out.
Roy Ng is a Curatorial Assistant at National Gallery Singapore. His art historical research focuses on photography, aesthetics, and post-/de-coloniality, but recent preoccupations also include ideas surrounding the “relational” in Southeast Asian art. He recently completed an MSt in History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of Oxford and is a curator for the ongoing Gallery exhibition, Nam June Paik: The Future Is Now.
