Padang Atrium

The entrance of the Padang Atrium is tucked beneath the curved veil that drapes over the entrance of the Gallery from the Padang. This architectural feature symbolically unifies the former City Hall and Supreme Court buildings, contrasting the weightier insertion of the basement concourse, which extends below the former Supreme Court and City Hall.

Two link bridges connect the monuments, allowing visitors to easily move between the upper floors and view the expansive space from new angles.

Above the atrium and the Supreme Court roof terrace, the filigree roof gently filters natural light into the spaces below. Designed by studioMilou Singapore, the architecture carefully crafts the interplay of light, inspired by the soft filtering through a forest canopy and the weaving of natural fibres like rattan.
