The breadth and depth of the two exhibitions will help visitors explore the significance and development of modern ink painting. The ‘Wu Guanzhong: Beauty Beyond Form’ exhibition – one of the most comprehensive in recent times – will feature both oil and ink paintings, many of which are on display for the first time in Singapore. Similarly, the Gallery’s presentation of ‘After the Rain’ marks the first historical survey of Chua’s career by a national museum, covering his most important works and artistic interests, including the Singapore cityscape and reflections on nature.
