Watch three popular novels by Singaporean female writers come to life on stage. In this condensed dramatic reading directed by Samantha Scott-Blackhall, award-winning actresses Serene Chen and Shafiqhah Efandi, roll up their sleeves to play all the characters in the books.

Samantha Scott-Blackhall is an artist with 20 years of experience in Singapore's theatre industry. She has achieved critical acclaim as a theatre director, artistic director and educator. Scott-Blackhall is a theatre educator at LASALLE College of the Arts as well as the Artistic Director of the arts company, Gateway Arts.
Serene Chen is a three-time winner of the Straits Times Life Theatre Awards for Best Supporting Actress. She starred in Colin Goh and Woo Yen Yen’s 2006 award-winning film Singapore Dreaming and HBO Asia’s Invisible Stories. Recently, Chen voiced Descent, performance video produced by The Blue Statesmen and co-hosted Backlogues, an eight-part podcast on arts management in Singapore.
Actress and singer Shafiqhah Efandi graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a BA (Hons) in Acting. She was in ’Anak’ (Child) by Very Shy Gurl for Esplanade’s Pentas 2022 and ‘Bangsawan Gemala Malam’ by Teater Ekamatra for Singapore International Festival of Arts 20’22. She also acted in the Netflix original series “Mr. Midnight” as Zihan.
