Gallery Gigs features videos of performances and interviews by local performing artists. The festival’s theme of “New Ways of Seeing, Thinking, and Being” reflects our continued search for answers, new perspectives, and beliefs within the new normal of disruptive and continually changing times. Through the artists’ own perspectives and lived experiences, each Gallery Gigs video seeks to stimulate new ways of thinking and seeing, dialogue, and engagement. It is also an opportunity to delve deeper into how the art and objects from National Gallery Singapore, as well as the history and heritage of Singapore’s Civic District precinct sustains the inspiration of artists from various backgrounds. Look out for performance by musicians Sezairi Sezali, and Keyana, spoken word artist Shivram, and dancer-choreographer Germaine Cheong!
KEYANA is a Singaporean singer-songwriter, dancer-choreographer and model, and is a rising artist in the local R&B scene. She counts female R&B singers such as Mary J. A strong believer in representing her truth as an Afro-Chinese Singaporean, KEYANA is all about embracing differences and celebrating diversity. She has modelled for multiple fashion brands and magazines, both locally and internationally. With her music, she seeks to provide raw and emotional truths for people from all walks of life to find strength and solace. In October 2021, KEYANA released her latest single, “Afterglow.”
