Rachma Lim will perform an original composition from her upcoming single to be released in April 2022, Wishing Well, as well as her piece Ricominciare (begin again), which was recorded at the prestigious Abbey Road studios in London. Joining her are fellow budding jazz composers: guitarist Alvin Wong, multi-instrumentalist Eugene Seow and special feature Namie Rasman on vocals alongside electronic elements.
Hailing from Medan, Indonesia, jazz pianist Rachma Lim arrived in Singapore as a teenager and has performed extensively since graduating from LASALLE College of the Arts, School of Contemporary Music in 2010.She has spent over a decade performing and collaborating with established local musicians who are influenced by various cultures. The ensembles she has formed with groups such as Raghajazz, Orchestra Melayu Singapura, The City Swing, Singapore Wind Symphony and Big Band, Qi & Teng, to name a few bridge the traditional and contemporary, and the East and the West. Lim has released an EP containing original jazz compositions, Her Nocturnal Chapters. She has also recorded an album at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios in London. After graduating from Queens College, New York City, with a Master’s degree in jazz studies, Lim returned home to be part of the jazz community in Singapore and hopes to build a bigger community in this industry.
