Foo Wee San, Intern, Integrated Marketing

"As a Digital Marketing intern, I ideate and edit video content for TikTok and Instagram to promote upcoming exhibitions and permanent galleries, and assist the Marketing Managers in other capacities too.

To sum it all up, this entire internship has been wonderful: I got the chance to work with various departments within the Gallery, meet amazing colleagues who have become friends, and learn skills beyond my scope of work, such as artwork and exhibition management and curatorial programming.

As a scholar with the Gallery, this internship makes me excited to return to the Gallery upon graduation to fulfil my bond – hopefully in the Integrated Marketing team, which I have grown to love fondly."

Lionel Fong, Intern, Audience Engagement

"It is my honour to have an opportunity to intern in the Gallery. My colleagues in Audience Engagement have been really supportive of my academic and professional journey.

This internship has allowed me to explore engaging audiences with digital initiatives, and understand the intentions of exhibition planning and programming, looking from the point of view from different stakeholders.

My favourite part about the internship is the cohesive working environment. Everyone is in this together, and we help to support one another as much as we can. Given the chance, I would love to work at the Gallery in the future."

Thank you, National Gallery Singapore and the Audience Engagement Team, for having me.

Serene Au, Intern, Curatorial Programmes

"My time at the Gallery has been incredibly rewarding, thanks to its vibrant and inclusive culture. The emphasis on creativity and collaboration has made every day enriching and inspiring.

One of the highlights of my internship was the opportunity to visit artists' studios and participate in programmes like Sharon Chin’s workshop. Seeing the participants engage and enjoy themselves was particularly fulfilling. Preparing for the workshop and meeting Sharon beforehand added an extra layer of depth to my experience.

Through this internship, I learned the importance of meticulous planning, and gained a deeper appreciation for the profound impact of art on our society. The experience has been transformative, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a dynamic environment."
