Hearing Padang is an interactive installation consisting of two curved structures. Together, they create an acoustic experience by allowing sound to travel from one end to another. Located at the Padang, it faces the old Supreme Court building, which now forms part of National Gallery Singapore. The work references the main function of a court—to resolve disputes between people through hearings—as well as the Padang, which was historically built for public use. Hearing Padang intertwines the action of hearing with public participation.
The installation is located at the Padang, which is not accessible by wheelchair.
